This is the one but last edition of our Investing Opportunities series. The idea with the Investing Opportunities series was to challenge ourselves, and prove out that we are able to book profits even in a volatile year like 2019 where risk cycles turned from RISK OFF to RISK ON. It’s easy to be profitable when things are running smooth during a ‘RISK ON’ trend. However, it’s not easy to be profitable during choppy times like in 2019 when markets went through a trend change. Still, based on the results since June of 2019 we could easily say that we came very close to doubling our capital. We believe the results speak for themselves.
Momentum Investing Results In 2019
All in all this year was pretty solid for our Momentum Investing method (which was the basis of our Investing Opportunities series) even though markets were choppy this is what our portfolio looks like:
- First Majestic Silver (AG): 70% profits in the period June till the first week of September (CLOSED)
- Storagevault Canada (SVI.V): 20% profits between September and last week (CLOSED)
- Xebec Adsorption (XBC.V): 4% losses and never look back to this stock (CLOSED)
- Repligen (RGEN): slightly in green at this point (OPEN)
- Xilinx (XLNX): slightly in red at this point after we averaged down last week (OPEN)
As said, the 5G semis segment looks gorgeous. Xilinx, in particular, looks to be bottoming here with a trend reversal. We moved some of the capital into XLNX, and averaged down against our first entry this summer.
Also RGEN as part of the Health sector looks good.
We keep 2 positions now: RGEN + XLNX.
What we said last week is this: “For momentum plays we look at holding these positions in a 3 to 6 months timeframe, and double our entry on an annual basis.”
That’s the way we want to double our capital every year, and turn $10k into $1M in 7 years approx.
Now there is one sector that may be explosive as 2020 kicks off. And it might be the first sector we will play as we launch Momentum Investing as a premium service.

Countdown To The Start Of Our Mission 2026
We decided to formalize our challenge to turn $10k into $1M in 7 years as our offiicial mission.
We call it Mission 2026, and it starts January 1st 2020 with an ultimate date to achieve our target on December 31st, 2026.
It will not be easy, there will be bumps on the road, we will have big successes. But we are committed to get there because we do this with an enormous level of passion, ambition and focus on results.
Over the years InvestingHaven’s (small) research team developed 2 methodologies, and we will leverage both to achieve our challenge.
- The first method is an investing methodology based on intermarket dynamics. We have refined this over many years. It is focused on taking positions in the medium term, playing 6 to 9 month cycles. The premium service we designed for followers to follow our work is called Momentum Investing.
- The second method is a trading methodology based on a proprietary algorithm. It took many years to work this out and bring this to the state of perfection. The premium service we designed for followers to follow our work is called TRADE ALERTS.
Both methodologies allow us to double our capital every year. If we do this consistently over 7 years with an initial capital of $10k (5k per method) we will reach $1M after 7 years.
Why do we use 2 methodologies, and not just one? The answer is simple: once the numbers become bigger (say as of half a million) it becomes more challenging to take positions. Buying one stock for $500k is not the type of best practice we envision. That’s why the solution to this problem is to work with 2 methods separately towards
