‘Tis the season. End of year is when we publish our annual market forecasts. Most of our 2022 forecasts are out now. This short blog post summarizes our predictions for stocks, green battery metals, crypto, gold and silver.
Forecasts are based on data and trends at a certain point in time. They cannot be taken for granted, black swan events can occur. So, readers have to read our research materials with that in mind.
We are super bullish on green battery metals:
- Lithium stocks in 2022: really bullish, but it’s a cyclical market.
- Cobalt stocks in 2022: really bullish, but it’s a cyclical and above all a very small market.
- Graphite stocks in 2022: super bullish, but you have to be really selective.
We believe green battery metals are the investing opportunity of the decade, a secular mega trend.
Note that these mega trends have uptrends, aggressive consolidations and also lots of fake players. So, be careful to time your investments, take profits, pick the value add players.
The Dow Jones should go through some corrective periods but ultimately could and should touch an area near 40k. We strongly recommend to check the 100 year Dow Jones chart featured in this article Dow Jones Historical Chart On 100 Years because it shows that stock markets are writing history (until proven otherwise).
While the ongoing stock bull market is really strong, it will also come with strong pullbacks. We will have retracements, some of them violent. But a really big crash similar to 2020, 2015, 2009 is what expect starting summer or fall of 2023.
We believe silver will move to 34.70 USD with a stretched target of 40.70 USD. This assumes an USD that starts decelerating, and a period in which bond yields will be flat OR declining.
We see gold moving to 2500 USD, presumably in 2022.
The one feature in crypto markets that will stand out in 2022: hyper bi-furcation. Only a few select coins will do really well. The time of broad coin participation and easy gains is over.
